Mission Nombre de Dios

Walking toward the Mission grounds from the parking lot, this is what you see: a peaceful lagoon, a welcoming bench, and a view of the gazebo and ancient tombs and gravestones through the shadows of the trees. You could easily spend a decent amount of time reading the stones and honoring those who are buried here. If you have the ability, you could even do research on the departed while walking the grounds.

St. George Street

This beautiful Spanish tile fountain topped with native coquina is located behind the Café del Hidalgo along St. George Street. Of interest: Sometime in the past, a Native American Christian woman was found to be buried very near this place. She was reburied with care, and to my knowledge still lies there today.
